High protein chocolate pudding oats

Chocolate oats in a bowl with grated chocolate on top

I used to meal prep this for breakfast EVERY single day. A high protein chocolate porridge bowl.

I use high protein chocolate milk and slow cook it so it’s super indulgent. These can be prepped for the entire week so you can properly fuel your mornings in no time.

Method

  1. Add the rolled oats to a small saucepan, followed by the high-protein chocolate milk, a splash of regular milk, vanilla extract, salt and cinnamon. Stir everything together until well combined.
  2. Place the saucepan over a medium-low heat and gently cook the oats, stirring regularly to prevent them from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  3. As the oats cook, they'll gradually absorb the milk and begin to thicken. After a few minutes of cooking, add your cocoa powder and stir through well. Whenever the mixture starts to look too thick or dry, add another splash of chocolate milk or regular milk and stir.
  4. Continue cooking for anywhere between 10 and 30 minutes, depending on how soft and creamy you like your oats. For a thicker porridge with more bite, cook for less time. For extra-soft, creamy oats, keep cooking gently and adding milk as needed.
  5. Once the oats have reached your desired consistency, transfer to a bowl and finish with your favourite toppings.
