Lunch & Dinner
Everything savoury that makes a meal lives here, whether it is eaten at a desk at one o'clock or at the table at seven. Pasta that cooks in the time it takes to make its own sauce, noodles built around a jar of something, curries, tacos and traybakes you can leave alone.
Lunch gets the same care: salads built on something substantial, with a dressing made properly, soups, toasties and the things that survive a few hours in a bag. Most of these are better on day two than day one, which is the point if you are prepping for the week.
Not all of it is quick. Some want an hour or more — dauphinoise, a stuffed pumpkin, a chilli con carne cottage pie — and the time on each recipe is what the method actually describes, so you can tell which is which before you start.
